Description

The Royal Australian Mint released in 2013 the 60th Anniversary of the Coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, a Royal Collection 2-dollar ($2) Colour-Printed 'C' Mintmark Uncirculated coin in a folder. The coronation was on the 2nd June, 1953 over a year after her father's passing. There were 8,251 guests in attendance and over 20 million viewers via television. For many, this was the first television program they had ever seen, as it was a very new technology. Her reign spanned over 6 decades until her recent passing, and only 32,967 of the mintmarked coins were minted, which is why this coin is so rare.

The non-mintmarked coin that looks the same without the mintmark had 995,000 coins minted so it is a little more common.
