HPE External 2.0m MiniSAS HD to MiniSAS Cable 716191-B21

The HPE external 2.0m MiniSAS HD to MiniSAS Cable 716191-B21 is a MiniSAS HD SFF8644 to MiniSAS SFF8088 2 metre cable, allowing connection between a HBA SAS PCI-e external port card and an external LTO tape drive or an LTO tape library drive, with safe and efficient connectivity.

All LTO tape drives, whether external or in a tape library, from LTO1 to LTO8, require a miniSAS SFF-8088 cable end (rectangular miniSAS plug) to plug in. Therefore, any of these LTO-1 to LTO-8 tape drives can use this cable as long as the receiving SAS HBA PCI-e card, SAS adaptor, or network connection where the drive will be plugged in has a miniSAS HD SFF-8644 plug (square-end miniSAS plug). An LTO9 tape drive requires a miniSAS SFF-8644 cable end (square-end miniSAS plug) to plug it in. Therefore, any LTO-9 tape drive can use this cable as long as the receiving SAS HBA PCI-e card, SAS adaptor, or network connection where the drive will be plugged in has a miniSAS HD SFF-8088 plug (square-end miniSAS plug). Otherwise, if they are both miniSAS square plug holes, you will need a miniSAS HD SFF8864-to-miniSAS HD SFF8864 square plug cable on both ends.
