LTO7 Tape Autoloaders & Libraries

LTO7, LTO-7 or LTO Ultrium 7 tape library drives are the earliest model of LTO tape drives available new. These LTO-7 tape drives and libraries will read and write to LTO7 tapes, read and write to LTO6 tapes, and will read only LTO5 data cartridges. Any tape cartridges before LTO-5 will need to be read or written to by earlier models of LTO Ultrium tape drives.

As LTO5 and LTO6 tape drives were made (EOL) End of Life earlier this year, so LTO7 tape library drives in SAS and FC will be the next drive to be made EOL, and we expect to see that happen after the introduction of LTO10 tape drives sometime in the first half of next year (2025).
