HPE (rebadged) MSL3040 Tape Library with a LTO-8 Ultrium 30750 SAS Tape Drive & 40 Tape Slots

This HPE rebadged MSL3040 tape library has a LTO-8 Ultrium 30750 SAS tape drive & 40 tape slots available. This HPE MSL3040 tape library package comes the library, documentation, 1 x HPE LTO8 tape cartridge (Q2078A), 1 x HPE LTO universal tape drive cleaning cartridge (C7978A), a mini SAS 1m cable, terminator, tape barcode reader, remote management, a rack or rail kit for this 3U library and a 1 year next business day warranty. The data cable is a mini-SAS High Density to SFF8088 or if requested we can swap it for a SFF8088 to SFF8088 miniSAS to miniSAS cable. The LTO-8 tape drive can read and write to LTO8 tapes at up to 360MB/sec native or 750MB/sec compressed, it can read and write to LTO7 tapes but does not read LTO6 tapes. This HPE MSL3040 tape library drive has many options including:

Scalability: It has the option for up to 3 tape drives and 40 tape slots in the base library unit. It can then add on an up to an additional 6 units creating up to 280 tape slots and up to 21 x LTO6, LTO7 or LTO8 tape drives.

Power supply upgrade kit: This option allows the power supply to be upgraded to allow for redundancy

Extended warranty: The warranty can be upgraded from the HPE 1 year Next Business Day (NBD) Warranty that the library and drives come with, to a HPE 3 year Foundation Care Next Business Day (NBD) Response Warranty or a HPE 3 year Foundation 24x7 Response Warranty for the library and drives.

Partitioning: This allows each partitioned library to be presented to the host as an independent library, separate from other partitions in the library.

HPE TapeAssure Advanced: This will proactively and intelligently monitor utilization, performance and overall life and health of the library, drives and media.

Encryption: The MSL3040 library has an encryption licence available and a key manager for additional security. 

HPE Secure Manager License: This provides an additional level of security that lets you control access to the tape library by authorizing specific servers. It increases reliability by blocking disruptive traffic from unauthorized hosts to the library.

High availability path failover: This uses host drivers in conjunction with library and drive firmware to manage multiple paths across multiple SANs. It presents a single drive or robot path to applications and automatically transfer commands to an alternate path if the original one is lost.
