The IBM LTO Ultrium Universal Cleaning cartridge 35L2086 is designed for use in all IBM LTO Ultrium tape drives 1-10, including: LTO-1/LTO1/LTO 1, LTO-2/LTO2/LTO 2, LTO-3/LTO3/LTO 3, LTO-4/LTO4/LTO 4, LTO-5/LTO5/LTO 5, LTO-6/LTO6/LTO 6, LTO-7/LTO7/LTO 7, LTO-8/LTO8/LTO 8, LTO-9/LTO9/LTO 9 and LTO-10/LTO10/LTO 10. The IBM LTO Ultrium Cleaning tape cartridge can be used in all brands of LTO Ultrium tape drives that carry the LTO Ultrium Logo. Please note that this cartridge is identical to the Lenovo-branded tape, but Lenovo is IBM's retail brand and is usually more expensive.

IBM LTO Ultrium Universal Cleaning Cartridge - Features

  • Up to 50 cleaning passes (drive dependent - depends on how clean the drive is, how old the drive is, quality of and age of the tapes used, etc.)

The IBM Ultrium cleaning cartridges can be used to clean all LTO Ultrium tape drives. The IBM universal cleaning cartridges are specifically matched to the heads and tape path components used in IBM Ultrium tape products. Each cleaning cartridge contains a memory module (RFID) used to identify the cartridge.

DRIVE CLEANING: Use this LTO Ultrium cleaning cartridge whenever the drive displays 'C' and the status light is off. Load the LTO cleaning cartridge into the drive cartridge entry compartment. The drive unit will then automatically clean the drive and, when finished, eject the cartridge.

IBM LTO CARTRIDGE STORAGE:
To prevent condensation and ensure long life, the IBM LTO Ultrium Cleaning Cartridges should only be operated or stored under the following conditions.

IBM LTO CARTRIDGE OPERATING ENVIRONMENT: 
10-45 degrees Celsius/Centigrade (50-113 degrees Fahrenheit) and 10-80% Humidity

IBM LTO CARTRIDGE STORAGE ENVIRONMENT: 
16-32 degrees Celsius/Centigrade (61-90 degrees Fahrenheit) and 20-80% Humidity

IBM LTO CARTRIDGE HANDLING:
Handle the IBM LTO Ultrium cartridge carefully. It may be damaged or degraded if it is dropped. Labels should be placed on the front side of the cartridge in the recessed area. Do not put labels anywhere else on the cartridge, as this can damage the drive or cause load errors. When not in use, IBM LTO cartridges should be stored and transported in their individual plastic clamshell case. Do not store cartridges in direct sunlight. Do not expose the cartridge to water or magnetic fields, and do not pull the tape out by hand or remove the screws and open the tape cartridge, as any of these acts will damage the tape and void the warranty.

    IBM cleaning cartridge

    I recently bought the IBM LTO cleaning cartridge with Stutch Data. I needed a compatible, reliable, quality cartridge to clean my tape drive that I rely on professionally.
    It arrived and was super easy to use. This was recommended by my drive manufacturer and also the Stutch Data team.
    I decided to go straight to IBM and of course it worked perfectly.
