The Sony SDX2-50W / SDX250W AIT-2 130GB WORM data cartridge stores up to 50GB native capacity and up to 130GB compressed capacity on this 230m tape.The SDX2-50W AIT-2 130GB tape is a Write Once Read Many (WORM) tape that is ideal to prevent data being written over. The AIT-2 Write-Once-Read-Many (WORM) tape format protects valuable data against accidental erasure and writes at 6MB/sec sustained native transfer rate using Helical Scan technology. The Sony SXDX2-50W data cartridge can be read and written to in AIT-2 drives such as SDX-500 series, AIT-2 turbo drives such as SDX-550 and SDX-560 and SDX-570 series and AIT-3 drives such as SDX-700 series. The Sony SXDX2-50C data cartridge can be read only in a AIT-3Ex drive such as SDX-800 series.
Sony AIT-2 tapes have proven reliability and durability with a 30 year media life thanks to AME technology (Advanced Metal Evaporated). Quick access provided by AIT's unique Remote Memory-In-Cassette (R-MIC) is incorporated into the cartridge. The Cleaning Tape for the drive is SDX1-CL.

All the AIT drives that use SDX2-50W Sony AIT-2 WORM 130B tape cartridges are recommended to use the Sony SDX1-CL AIT 1-3 Drive Cleaning Cartridge to clean and maintain the AIT drive in top condition.

If Sony finds the product contains any such defect, Sony will either replace the product at no charge or refund the purchase price shown on your receipt. This limited lifetime warranty applies only to the original end-user purchaser and therefore is not transferable. Please keep the original copy of your purchase receipt for any future warranty claim. This warranty does not cover any damage or defect due to accident, misuse, abuse or neglect.
