Description

The HPE LTO-5 Ultrium RW Data Cartridge C7975A has a native capacity of up to 1.5 TB and a compressed capacity of up to 3TB. The HPE LTO-5 Ultrium RW Data Cartridge supports read and write in all LTO-5 Ultrium 5 tape drives, read and write in LTO-6 Ultrium 6 tape drives, and read-only in all LTO-7 Ultrium 7 tape drives. The HPE LTO5 tape has been extensively tested under extreme environmental conditions, including drops, shocks, and vibrations, and has an HPE-guaranteed archival life of 30 years. The HPE LTO5 tape usage is defined as 1,000,000 passes or 260 full tape backups.

It can write or read data at 1 TB/hour, storing, encrypting and protecting up to 3 TB on a single cartridge, making it the ultimate in large-scale, 24x7, mission-critical IT environments. Standardising on HP LTO-5 Ultrium tape C7975A delivers the capacity to meet shrinking backup windows, industry-standard AES 256-bit encryption (IEEE1619.1), and interchangeable ReWritable (RW) or Write Once Read Many (WORM) media, without extra space or IT resource overhead. A smoother base film and smaller magnetic particles increase bit density, allowing more data to be recorded on the same amount of tape. This has increased the number of recording tracks from 896 on LTO-4 to 1280 on 5th-generation HPE LTO-5 Ultrium 3 TB cartridges. Intelligent cartridge design with LTO Ultrium cartridge memory chip delivers faster access time and enhanced media monitoring. Durable, with first-time restore ensured, fewer media failures, and fewer disrupted backups, regardless of duty cycle or environmental conditions. Ultra-reliable Intelligent cartridge with superior 'smart grabber' mechanism and mechanical interlock to prevent the leader pin from being pulled inside the tape housing. Sensors detect a proper connection and prevent leader loss that would ruin the tape. Warranty Information

Warranty Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) global warranty warrants the user, that this media product is free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use during the useful life of the product (the "Warranty Period"). If HPE receives notice of such defect during the Warranty Period, HPE will, at its option, either repair or replace such defective product. What the warranty does not cover This warranty does not apply to defects caused by misuse, improper storage, or normal wear and tear. Improper storage includes without limitation, not complying with HPE's recommendations on optimum storage temperatures and humidity. If HPE is unable, within a reasonable time, to repair or replace any product then purchaser shall be entitled to a refund of the purchase price. Always load the most recent firmware in drives, install software patches in applications, run HPE diagnostics and utilities such as Library and Tape Tools and implement temporary procedures or work arounds by HPE while HPE works on a permanent solution. Cooperate with HPE in attempting to resolve the problem over the telephone. This may involve performing routine diagnostic procedures, installing additional software or patches, removing third party options and/or substituting options.
