IBM 3592 JC 4TB Tape Cartridge 46X7452

The IBM 3592 JC 4TB Data Cartridge 46X7452 is a Generation 3 3592 cartridge with a native capacity of 4TB when used in an IBM 3592 TS1140 Tape Drive Model EO7 Gen 4 Drive, using 2560 tracks and a transfer rate of up to 250 MB/Sec. This speed and capacity increase with later drives. The IBM 3592 TS1150, TS1155, and TS1160 Tape Drive Model EO8 Gen 5 Drive achieves a native capacity of up to 7 TB using 4608 tracks and a transfer rate of up to 300 MB/sec with the IBM 3592 JC tape cartridge 46X7452. The IBM enterprise 3592 JC data cartridge has an estimated archival life of up to 30 years and comes with a limited lifetime warranty covering manufacturing and material defects for the useful life of the product.

All IBM 3592 tape cartridges, including JC cartridges, support media re-use by enabling the drive to reformat and upgrade prior-generation media cartridges. That means existing media cartridges deliver both improved performance and capacity, helping you mitigate the impact of a tape subsystem upgrade. The IBM 3592 JC tape cartridge is 880m (2887 feet) long and features a memory chip that stores performance and usage records. These records are used to proactively determine whether the tape needs to be replaced. The cartridge utilises thick plastics, ultrasonic welding techniques, and tamper-proof screws to protect against accidental damage. The IBM 3592 JC cartridges use a uniform, ultra-smooth magnetic layer with a refined coating to improve media reliability, increase performance and minimise tape head wear.

The IBM 3592 Tape Cartridge JC and its future generations, including JD, JE, and JF, all use Barium Ferrite particles with NANOCUBIC technology to create a thin, uniformly coated magnetic layer. Barium Ferrite will extend the life of your 3592 tape drive. The high signal-to-noise ratio of BaFe ensures optimal performance even with natural head wear. Users can expect longer head life when using BaFe tape.
