IBM LTO 10 Ultrium 30TB/75TB Data Cartridge 03PL170

The IBM LTO 10 Ultrium data cartridge, or IBM LTO Ultrium 10 data cartridge 03PL170, is a black tape cartridge and is rewriteable (RW), and can write up to 30TB native capacity, and have a native data transfer rate of up to 400 MBps, and can write up to 75TB compressed capacity, and a compressed data transfer rate of up to 1,000MB/s or 1GB/s. The IBM LTO Ultrium 10 data cartridge (LTO-10) offers a 66% increase in storage capacity over the previous generation, providing long-term data preservation and rapid, reliable access. There appears to be no increase in write speed, as the IBM LTO Ultrium 10 drive writes to an LTO 10 data cartridge at 6.01 m/s, and the IBM LTO Ultrium 9 drive writes to an LTO 9 data cartridge at 6.05 m/s.

The IBM LTO10 data cartridge has a length of 1,035m (1.03km or 3,395.66 feet), a width of 12.65mm and uses 15,104 tracks. The IBM LTO 10 Ultrium tape is designed for use with all brands of LTO-10 or LTO Ultrium 10 tape drives and libraries. High-resolution 4K and 8K video, along with the ever-increasing data requirements of businesses, make the IBM LTO 10 tape cartridge a perfect solution for more reliable, cost-effective archive, low-access, and managed storage.

Drives that use the IBM LTO Ultrium 10 data cartridges are recommended to use the IBM LTO Ultrium Universal Cleaning Cartridge to keep the drive clean.

IBM LTO CARTRIDGE HANDLING:
Handle the IBM LTO Ultrium cartridge carefully. It may be damaged or degraded if it is dropped. Labels should be placed on the front side of the cartridge in the recessed area. Do not put labels anywhere else on the cartridge, as this can damage the drive or cause load errors. When not in use, IBM LTO cartridges should be stored and transported in their individual plastic clamshell case. Do not store cartridges in direct sunlight. Do not expose the cartridge to water or magnetic fields, and do not pull the tape out by hand or remove the screws to open the tape cartridge, as any of these actions may damage the tape and void the warranty.
