LTO8, LTO Ultrium 8 RW Data Cartridges

The LTO8 Ultrium RW data cartridges are rewriteable (RW) and are the most comonly used form of LTO ultrium 8 tapes as they are written over when the data they hold expires. These LTO-8 RW tape cartridges are generally cheaper than the alternative which is the Write Once Read Many (WORM) LTO 8 data cartridges. WORM LTO8 tape cartridges are mainly used for data that requires a long retention period and the data cannot be deleted or overwritten.
