Description
The 2018 Australian Remembrance Armistice Postal and Numismatic Cover (PNC) features a pictorial envelope depicting an Australian Soldier kneeling on the ground(from the Australian War Memorial Archive), with an uncirculated Australian $2 red poppy-coloured with 'C' mint marked (Canberra) coin and an Australian $1 stamp postmarked in Canberra, commemorating 11th November, 1918 to 2018. This why we have a minutes silence on the 11th day of the 11th month and call it Remembrance day.
This PNC remembers the Armistice of WW1 100-years aluminium-bronze $2 coin produced by the Royal Australian Mint and the stamp and cover by Australia Post. This PNC honours the momentous occasion in history when, in 1918, the Armistice of Compiègne was signed, silencing the guns on the Western Front of WW1. While its obverse features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, the reverse shows the red poppy over the 100. It is considered rare to scarce as it is limited to only 7,500 PNC's produced making it a sought-after collectable. With the coin, stamp and cover it becomes far more valuable than just the $2 red poppy with 'C' mint marked (Canberra) coin.
