RAM Australia Post PNC 2022 Australian Dinosaurs - Kunbarrasaurasiamantinasaurus

The Royal Australian Mint and Australia Post PNC 2022 Australian Dinosaurs - Kunbarrasaurus is a limited edition Postal Numismatic Cover, or some call it a Philatelic Numismatic Cover (PNC), released by Australia Post featuring a RAM $1 coin and $1.10 stamp of the Australian dinosaur Kunbarrasaurus ieversi, a small, squat armoured ankylosaur (fused lizard) dinosaur from the Early Cretaceous Period. It was a plant eater, and the remains of this individual's last meal were found in its stomach. Kunbarrasaurus was a quadrupedal and covered in bony armour on the head, back, abdomen, legs and along the tail. Around the size of a modern sheep, it had a parrot-like beak and an inner ear similar to that of a turtle. The PNC (Issue 22) is limited to 7,500 and celebrates this significant Australian find, which is known from multiple specimens, including the most complete sauropod skeleton found in Australia, making it a key part of the "Australian Dinosaurs" coin series. This PNC captures a piece of Australia’s unique paleontological heritage, featuring one of its most iconic dinosaurs.

This PNC includes a pictorial envelope, and the stamp and cover illustration were by Peter Trusler, and the cover design was by Jason Watts. The PNC includes a $1.10 stamp and a special dinosaur postmark dated the first day of issue (September 5, 2022) in Winton, QLD, as well as the $1 uncirculated Kunbarrasaurus coin encapsulated within the PNC envelope and viewing capsule.
